Waters Corporation: Does Chromatography Still Matter? The Critical Role of UPLC in Clinical LC-MS/MS Performance

As mass spectrometry systems continue to advance in analytical sensitivity, robustness, and ease of use, some may question whether liquid chromatography (LC) remains a critical component of the clinical LC-MS/MS workflow. Is LC simply an inlet to the mass spectrometer - or does it play a more fundamental role in analytical performance?

In this webinar, we will challenge the notion that LC is "just an inlet" and explore why chromatographic separation remains essential for generating reliable, high-quality clinical results. Attendees will learn how effective LC improves assay sensitivity, enhances reproducibility, minimizes matrix effects, and reduces analytical interferences that can compromise confidence in clinical results.

Focusing on Waters UPLC technology, including the ACQUITY UPLC I-Class PLUS System, we will examine how advanced chromatographic performance contributes to improved method robustness, consistent retention times, reduced rework, and greater operational efficiency in routine clinical laboratories.

Join us to discover why LC and MS deliver their greatest value as an integrated solution - and why UPLC remains a foundational element of successful clinical LC-MS/MS workflows.

What You'll Learn:

  • Why chromatographic separation remains critical despite advances in MS technology
  • How LC impacts analytical sensitivity, reproducibility and assay robustness
  • Strategies to reduce matrix effects and analytical interferences
  • The benefits of UPLC for routine clinical laboratory operations
  • Why integrated LC-MS/MS solutions deliver superior analytical performance and workflow efficiency compared with viewing LC as merely an inlet to the mass spectrometer
