Agilent Technologies: 2DLC-MS Applicability for the Characterization of Adeno-Associated Viruses

Adeno-Associated Viruses (AAVs) are the main viral vectors for gene therapy. Intact AAVs act as a vehicle to protect and deliver therapeutic oligonucleotides. As part of critical quality attributes (CQA) of therapeutic products, analytical methods such as Ion Exchange Chromatography (IEX) and Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) were used for the separation of AAV capsids and characterization of reduced subunits.

This seminar will describe the applicability of Two-Dimensional Liquid Chromatography (2DLC) coupled with Mass Spectrometry to automate the two orthogonal techniques of IEX and LC-MS in the characterization of Empty and Full AAV Capsids.

Presenter: Dat Phan (Applications Scientist, Agilent Technologies, Inc.)

Dat Phan is an Applications Scientist in the Liquid Phase Separations Group at Agilent Technologies. Before joining Agilent Technologies (HP at that time) in 1988 Dat was with the University of Missouri-Columbia where he received his academic and professional trainings in Chemical Engineering and Analytical Biochemistry. Dat supports ChemStation Software and applications in HPLC, UHPLC, LCMS, CE, and CEMS.
