Academic scientists such as synthetic chemists, biologists, biochemists and biotechnologists rely on chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC/MS) for the analysis of individual proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, and glycans. Questions related to the native or denaturated intact molecule, its sequence, (bio)chemical modifications of single residues, decorations, and covalent bonding with other small and large molecules are being addressed.

Due to the complexity of traditional LC/MS instrumentation, the analyses are usually carried out by specialists in analytical core facilities or dedicated research groups.

Whether you work in a core mass spectrometry facility or you partner with one for your analytical data, this webinar will provide valuable insight into the accessibility of modern mass spectrometry.

AGENDA

14:00-14:05 Short Introduction of the Speakers and the Topic of this event
  • Presenter: Dr. Sascha Schifrin (Waters GmbH)
14:05-14:30 BioAccord Beyond Routine Analysis - How Does It Fit Into A Biochemistry Laboratory?
  • Presenter: Christian Winter (Goethe University Frankfurt)

How does an LC-MS developed for the biopharmaceutical industry fit into a biochemistry laboratory with daily changing sample and measurement requirements? Many biochemistry laboratories that have users with little to no MS experience can still benefit from high-resolution mass spectrometry. In this presentation, we will focus on our BioAccord experience studying protein, peptide, and small molecule analysis with daily changing sample conditions.
