Launch of the ATEBIO Project

Watrex: Meeting of key members of the ATEBIO implementation team
On February 18, 2025, we gathered at the UIACH premises in Brno with key members of the ATEBIO project implementation team. Alongside us (Watrex Prague), the project involves representatives from the Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University, the University Hospital in Hradec Králové, and the company Elphogene s.r.o. Together, we officially launched the practical implementation of this significant project.

We are pleased to be part of ATEBIO – a scientific research project that bridges the academic and application sectors to bring innovations in (bio)analysis, medical diagnostics, genomics, and proteomics. The project will introduce new technologies, automated systems, and analytical methods that enable faster and more accurate sample processing. By leveraging nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and automation, it will be possible to efficiently monitor biomarkers, facilitating clinical diagnostics and modernizing laboratory processes. We expect the project’s outcomes to be applied not only in the Czech market but also internationally.

What will the ATEBIO project bring?
- Development of new analytical methods for processing biological samples, accelerating and improving laboratory analyses.
- Innovations in sample preparation automation, reducing errors and increasing diagnostic efficiency.
- Use of new types of nanomaterials and sorbents for ultra-sensitive biomarker detection.
- Improved sustainability of laboratory processes by reducing organic solvent consumption and minimizing waste.
- New, less invasive biological material collection methods, facilitating sample handling in clinical laboratories.
The Role of Watrex Praha in the Project
Our company is actively involved in developing automated solutions for sample preparation (xTrovert XT), which will be crucial for subsequent analysis. Automating these processes will significantly speed up workflows and simplify sample handling. In addition to research activities, our experts contribute to education and training of future specialists, fostering knowledge transfer between the academic and application sectors.
