Los Angeles, CA – This January, Cal State LA became a hub for scientists and researchers as it hosted the 15th Multidimensional Chromatography Workshop. From January 10 to 12, 2024, the event brought together leading experts and those new to the field of multidimensional chromatography, focusing on the latest techniques and developments.
Organized by Drs. Katelynn Perrault Uptmor (William &amp; Mary), Pierre-Hugues Stefanuto (University of Liège), Dwight Stoll (Gustavus Adolphus College), and Petr Vozka (California State LA), the workshop featured talks and presentations on key trends in multidimensional gas and liquid chromatography from both academic and industry leaders.

The workshop featured keynote and contributed presentations and discussion groups on important topics like new technology, data analysis, and practical applications in various fields. A highlight was the poster session, where researchers competed for awards sponsored by the American Chemical Society, showcasing the workshop&#39;s role in supporting new scientific discoveries.
Thanks to the generous backing of sponsors such as LECO, JEOL, SepSolve Analytical, GC Image, Spectral Works, RESTEK, Thermo Fisher, TRAJAN, VICI DBS, Chemistry Matters and the Cal State LA Scholarship, and Creative Activities, along with CREST CATSUS and Sikand SITI Center, admission to the workshop was free.

Dr. Krishna Foster, Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, opened the event with a welcoming speech that underscored the importance of chromatography in research, particularly in her own field of atmospheric chemistry. She highlighted California State University, Los Angeles&#39;s unique character as a &quot;people&#39;s university&quot; that champions diversity, equity, and nurturing talent from all backgrounds. Dr. Foster&#39;s speech set the tone for the event and spotlighted the university&#39;s commitment to sustainability and the integration of natural and social sciences.
