HPLC Symposium
Since its first edition in 1973 in Interlaken, Switzerland, the HPLC symposium series has established as one of the world’s major conference series in analytical chemistry and separation sciences. The conference represents an international forum for discussion of advances in liquid phase and condensed fluid based separations as well as related technologies; it is strongly methodologically and technologically driven. The emphasis of these meetings is since ever on fundamentals of separation science, in particular liquid chromatography (HPLC, UHPLC) and super-critical fluid chromatography, its hyphenation to mass spectrometry, multidimensional separations, sample preparation and their applications in various fields. In addition, capillary separations, microfluidic, nanofluidic and chip separations, diagnostic systems, and other leading technologies are also considered.

Welcome to Bruges for the 54th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques!

Dear friends, Dear colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to announce that the 54th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques (HPLC 2025) will be held from Sunday through Thursday, June 15-19, 2025, in Bruges, Belgium.

The HPLC symposium series is known as the world’s leading conference on liquid phase separations and their hyphenation with advanced detection technologies, including mass spectrometry and data treatment. In Bruges, the program will kick-off in the splendid Concert Hall on Sunday and will, from Monday on, be continued in the neighbouring, brand new BMCC conference center, where we will offer you a timely and forward looking scientific program.

The HPLC 2025 conference will have a strong focus on industrial research as well as on the automation of the analytical lab and its data flows. Early-career participants will be able to engage in dedicated poster and flash presentation competitions and will be offered a maximum number of oral presentation slots and a broad selection of educational workshops and tutorials. The combined exhibition, poster sessions, and catering hall will serve as the central hub of the conference, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere. In addition, a separate networking track will be offered to participating lab managers and decision-makers where they can share experiences and contemplate on the future of their labs. To encourage scientific exchange and friendship building, the scientific program will be topped with a rich social program, reflecting the well-known Belgian hospitality, and its abundant food and drink culture.

Bruges is a city renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture and many historic attractions such as the bustling Market Square, the serene Begijnhof, and picturesque canals, all within a 10 to 15 min walk from the conference centre. The entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is often referred to as the “Venice of the North”. Bruges is also famous for its broad choice of culinary delights, including exquisite Belgian chocolates, waffles, and world-renowned beers. Located in the Flanders region, Bruges is easily accessible through the well-connected international airport in Brussels (1 direct train per hour). Major European cities such as Amsterdam, London and Paris are within a range of maximally 300 km, and all easily connected by high-speed train.

We look forward to your contributions and welcoming you to the HPLC 2025, since we are convinced it will be both a rewarding professional and personal experience for you and your colleagues.

Warm regards,

Gert, Frederic, Sebastiaan, Deirdre and Ken
