LC-MS Operator
The Institute of Molecular Genetics of the CAS, v. v. i. (a public research institution) is part of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Currently, the scientific activity of the Institute is fully oriented towards research in the field of molecular, structural and cell biology, immunology, functional genomics and bioinformatics.
The institute was founded in 1962 as the Institute of Experimental Biology and Genetics of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences (IEBG), which grew out of the former Institute of Biology of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. In 1976, ÚEBG was merged with several biochemical laboratories of the Institute of Biological Biology and renamed the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the CSAV (IMG).
Research at the Institute of Molecular Genetics is based on four pillars, which consist of the 27 research and service research groups that provide basic research, as well as service groups (or research services) that, among other things, operate advanced imaging and sequencing equipment, and provide proteomic and cytometric services. The third pillar is represented by 4 research infrastructures, which can be found both in Krč and at the BIOCEV Centre in Vestec, and the last important pillar is the international environment and collaboration.
The Proteomics Service Laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMG) is announcing an open position for:
LC-MS Operator
You will:
- Operate mass spectrometer Orbitrap Exploris 480 coupled with UHPLC UltiMate 3000
- Maintain and troubleshoot the mass spectrometer, UHPLC and accessories
- Design and optimize LC-MS acquisition methods (untargeted and targeted)
- Monitor system performance by running quality control samples
- Analyze and visualize generated data
We require:
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in analytical/pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or related biological field
- Experience in operating liquid chromatography (and mass spectrometer)
- Reliability, flexibility and ability to learn new skills
- Strong communication skills, ability of team collaboration
- Solid written and spoken English; proficiency with PC
