When developing HPLC methods, isocratic and gradient methods offer different advantages. Knowing how to choose between the two types of methods is important for efficient method development.
In this talk we will look at how a scouting gradient can help determine whether an isocratic or gradient method is the best choice. The strengths of each will be discussed. They can help determine which to choose when conditions reasonably allow for a choice.
Lastly, we will briefly discuss how a scouting gradient can be used to optimize the conditions of an analytical gradient.
