The omniDAWN™ MALS Detector is a next-generation multi-angle light scattering system specifically designed for UPLC™ and UHPLC workflows. It delivers absolute molecular weight and particle size measurements without relying on column calibration or molecular standards, allowing researchers to obtain highly accurate characterization data at true high-performance chromatography speeds.
Equipped with 18 optimally positioned scattering angles and a flow cell engineered to minimize stray light, omniDAWN measures molar masses from 200 Da to 1 GDa and particle radii from 10 nm to 1 µm. The system is ideally suited for characterization of proteins, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), viral vectors, polymers, and other complex macromolecular systems.
Combined with ASTRA™ software, omniDAWN provides comprehensive characterization of molecular size, molar mass, composition, and stoichiometry. Integrated health monitoring and the COMET™ ultrasonic cleaning module ensure reliable operation, minimal maintenance, and consistent analytical performance.
Waters/Wyatt: A) Achieve up to 4× faster LC-MALS runs with UPLC. B) Achieve superior separation, revealing fragment peaks not discernible by HPLC.
Waters/Wyatt: ASTRA software goes beyond measuring overall molecular weight by: A) uniquely resolving individual components to quantify protein and conjugated species and determine stoichiometry, and B) reporting the total protein fraction.
