Cryo-electron microscopy structures of transcription initiation complexes with dinucleoside polyphosphates revealed that both nucleobase moieties can pair with the DNA template. The first encoded nucleotide pairs in a canonical Watson–Crick manner, whereas the second nucleobase pairs noncanonically in a reverse Watson–Crick manner. Our work provides a structural explanation of how dinucleoside polyphosphates initiate RNA transcription.</div></div>

A more challenging task came with the EURL PFAS Guidance Document and a bit later with the Recommendation EU 2022/1431. The target LOQs for the EU 4 PFAS were set at 0.001 µg/kg in fruits, vegetables and babyfood. Whilst concentration levels go down, direct injection methods are increasingly desirable to laboratories carrying out routine analysis of PFAS where analyte preconcentration is not deemed necessary or required. They have a simple sample preparation method, which not only reduces the opportunity for contamination and error but speeds up analysis time and the requirements for large volumes of samples.
