With that said, I was astounded looking at CNBC.com during breakfast this morning to see that <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2026/03/21/glp-1-diets-restaurants-protein-fiber-weight-loss-drugs.html">one in eight Americans are currently taking one of these drugs such as Ozempic</a>.<h4>Antibody–Drug Conjugates and Gene Therapy: Complexity at Every Step</h4>The ascent of antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) and gene therapies has introduced a new level of analytical complexity. ADCs blend the target specificity of monoclonal antibodies with the cytotoxic potency of small-molecule payloads—and characterizing the linker chemistry, drug-to-antibody ratio (DAR), and conjugate stability demands high-resolution LC–MS/MS at every stage from discovery through QC release testing. Reversed phase column chromatography is commonplace in quality assessment of drugs. This usually involves the use of aqueous buffers, acetonitrile and/ or methanol as a mobile phase and commonly used UV detection. But what happens when excipients and drugs don&#39;t contain a chromophore? These samples can&#39;t be identified and quantified by UV detection. Our answer is Charged Aerosol Detection (CAD), which is an excellent alternative and works as a universal detector for almost all non-volatile and many semi-volatile compounds.

Sugars can be found naturally in various foods and Beverages or are added to provide an array of functions, impacting nutrition, the sweetness and flavor of a product as well as mouth feel. With the increasing concerns of obesity and diabetes in many countries, the need to monitor sugar intake has grown in recent years. Consequently, now there are requirements to provide accurate information about added sugar content on food product labels to comply with current food labeling regulation. Monosaccharides fructose, galactose, and glucose, and disaccharides sucrose, lactose, and maltose are common sugar ingredients in foods. While low lactose and lactose-free products are available on the market, it is critical to ensure the label claim of these dairy based food products. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is the method of choice for the analysis of sugars.
